The city of Gorgoth, where dragons reigned unchallenged. Home to the most dragons, shops, buildings, and libraries since the humans were destroyed. It was a city of culture and refinement. Dragons here lived in peace, so long as they did as their queen wished. Elin hated it. Half of these dragons were kept ignorant of Excalibur, and she was certain they would join if they knew. But she couldn't just start handing out propaganda, that wasn't the way that she would gain support or trust. She had to show the dragons how their lifestyle was incomplete. She had to show them how their lives could be better. And that was why she was here in the first place. I don't like this. Ryagin's voice rumbled in her mind. Of course you don't. And I don't like it either, but we have to. I have to for..." her thought trailed off, leaving her mind blank until Ryagin gave her a mental tug, pulling her back to the moment. Yet another reason I should at least be there with you! I can barely feel you so far away! Elin sighed. You are too recognizable, and can't easily hide. Ranulf and Grounded are much better at this than you. And no, that is not an insult, it is only a fact. She had run here with Ranulf and Grounded. They had actually traveled very quickly, considering they were not traveling in the air and only going on the ground. An informant had met with Ranulf giving him valuable information on the comings and goings of Gorgoth. Elin planned to use that information to plan a way to get more dragons to see her way of life. The only problem was... it was heavily guarded and in the heart of the dragon city. Hence Ranulf and his daring way of accomplishing even the simplest of tasks. He was perfect for the job. (OoC: Grounded can’t fly at all, that’s how he got his name. He can outrun flying dragons on the ground though ) He knew the layout of the city better than most. As a messenger—as the best messenger in his age group—Ranulf had run nearly everywhere at one point or another. Routes, locations, and time needed had been drilled into him, and he’d learned a great deal about the third dimension once he’d learned how to traverse walls and rooftops to speed up his deliveries. Even after two years, he still knew the place like the back of his hand. Dragons tended to consider humans inferior, and so expected them to just run to and fro. The idea of one climbing with speed, precision, or purpose never occurred to most of them. Because of this, Ranulf could travel routes alone that bypassed the watched areas that most of his people had to use. It was a good system that allowed maximum surveillance with minimum effort by the dragons, but with all eyes either to the ground or the sky, his Middle Road gave him easy routes to avoid reptilian eyes. Even so, they wouldn’t have stopped him. He wore a long red cloak—the very one he’d been wearing when he first left this city. It was the sign of a message runner. And he had a thick scroll holster slung over his back, which tended to mean he had a message and he needed to deliver it. Nobody questioned a running messenger. So he made it back to the building where he’d hidden away the leader of Excalibur herself without a single hitch. Of course, this had all been the easy part. “Grandma, I’m here!” he called out as he entered, pitching his voice higher to sound as close to a little girl as he could. He moved over toward her, pulling the scroll sheathe off his back, and grinned. “My, Grandma, what massive hotness you have!” He reached into the sheathe, tugging out packages left and right. “I think I got all the stuff you wanted. Oh, and I got a couple of deliverer’s cloaks in here somewhere. We move in the right directions, you’ll be able to walk on the streets while wearing it.” Deliverers were among the humans that worked at night instead of during the day. They moved supplies as needed, refilling ore for the blacksmiths, flour and other things for bakers, and so on, so as not to disrupt the day-to-day activities of the city. Repetition was a valuable tool for preventing resistance—as long as you knew what each day brought, you were less likely to risk your life on the unknown. “So what’s the plan, Boss Lady?”ELIN DRAGON-RIDER

Elin chose to ignore Ranulf's comment. He was not bad looking, but only about a century to young. Thankfully that was less of a problem and more of an annoyance. Besides relationships were only distractions.
She was thankful she had brought him. No one else knew this city like he did, and he knew how to get around. Elin could have found a way, but it would have been difficult, and if anyone had seen her face... well she had a very distinctive face and word would have got back to Ryluth.
Inspecting the items Ranulf had brought back she pushed away an errant thought about the wheat that was being grown back at Excalibur. Now was not the time to fade into memory. She had a job to do.
"Now we set up our distraction. It must be large enough to attract the guards from the communications tower, but small enough to not attract Ryluth's personal disturbance team. I have been going over a few ideas, all of which depends on several circumstances. Today, because of this blasted sunny weather and the clear night ahead, the best plan seems to be pinning a low ranking dragon of some importance under a heavy merchant stand. If we do this next to the communications tower, those guards should come running to help. We will just have to make sure the stand is appropriately heavy. What are your thoughts?" The query was genuine. She valued the thoughts and opinions of those around her. Just one of the many ways she chose to differ from Ryluth, the evil monster.
