Tarin was finished with his training session for the day. He was teaching axe fighting skills to the young squires who were interested. His class consisted of about ten youngsters and it was one of his favorite parts of the day. He was taught that the younger you started learning to fight, the better you'd be. He completely agreed with this idea, and was glad to be able to help start this by teaching the class. He was in a good mood now, and smiled boldly as he marched down the halls, walking briskly even though he didn't have anywhere to be. He was so jazzed up, he almost wanted to march right up to the surface and challenge a dragon right at this moment. But no, he decided to move towards the knights eating hall instead, perhaps there was something there that he could indulge in for a moment. As he entered the room, he found that it was mostly empty, which was fine by him. There were some people he would rather not see or have to deal with right now. Or ever. He didn't want his good mood spoiled by incompetent people.

Tormund was one of the few souls in the hall, there was a plate there in front of him with bread an some meat though they weren't the object of his attention. A scroll, very very old was laid out before him on the table. The writing was faded an worn with the age and it was very hard to tell what it said. Hence why Tormund was studying it. It could have something useful or not but that was part of the mystery. He truthfully wanted to see what it held an thus his attempts to decipher it. Course he heard the door open and naturally glanced toward the door for a moment. Oh dear....it was that man. He had heard of how reckless they were and the high ranking member hoped that they wouldn't cause something just for grins. Looking back to his scroll he went back to reading, writing on a separate piece of paper with his quill; a feather used to write like in medieval times, possible version of the old words.

Tarin filled his plate with food, lots of it. He was a growing warrior and often needed much sustenance. He crossed to a table and sat across from a man with a large scroll in from of him. He was careful to keep his plate of food away from the delicate material. He looked up, recognizing the man from the Knights Seneschal. "Translating something?" Tarin asked, actually rather interested in whatever the man was doing.
Tarin liked history, it was probably the only thing he ever read about. A time when dragons didn't exist, or a time when knights were causing the dragons to go extinct. These stories gave him hope, and reminded him that a long time ago man was able to defeat dragons, so he would be able to now. Plus, he liked the art. The well drawn paintings of knights defeating dragons gruesomely. Yes, history was his niche.

"The old and lost can often be a key for the future in some way." Tormund answered. "One just needs to have the patience to figure out what the past wishes to say."
The past did hold tellings of the humans beating dragons, many stories. It showed that it was possibly though how many ages did it take for them to succeed? There wasn't a fully accurate timeline to where they could figure it out. How long would the world be in this mess? So hard to say and truthfully he pondered if he'd ever see this horrible way of life end while he was still alive. Probably not, younger generations would probably succeeded where they today wouldn't.

Tarin nodded but stiffened a little at the mans response. He was a poet of sorts, it seemed. Tarin preferred to just say things out right, say what you mean and never doddle. Still, this other Knight wasn't as bad as some people. It was easy to know what he was trying to say, but it was still a little too feathery and sparkly for Tarins taste, at least that was his brief opiniong about it.
"Patience?" Tarin scoffed, leaning back a little, away from the mans work, "I think the past is pretty straight forward. Though, translating other languages may take patience, sure," he agreed- to an extent. He picked up a piece of meat, biting into it but careful not to make a mess. Tarin like things in order, and didn't want to ruin the other knights project.

Poet? Nah. A poet wasn't what he was, just a man with a different way of talking. It wasn't really doddling to him, it was just a challenge for people to figure out. He really liked it more than just plain old talking.
"Alas a hidden thing or two could lie there, hidden away from sight unless you search." Tormund told him. "It can appear straightforward yet there can be something not."
Tormund ignored them as the other man started to eat, not too worried that a mess could happen. So long as it didn't get too messy he'd be fine. The scroll was old and needed to be cared for. Not treated horribly.

Tarin nodded as Tormund spoke of things hidden from sight. Tarin hated mysteries. Hated when there where things that he couldn't see or understand. The world was supposed to be their for the taking, the humans, and thing shouldn't be hard to work with. Still, he knew that some people got quite a thrill out of the chase of it all. He finished his bite, waiting to swallow before speaking. "Are you a fan of the mysteries of our history, Sir Tormund?"[/b] Tarin asked. Of course he respected the man, and respected the things that he was working on. Even if he wouldn't do it himself.
