Standing at 5’7, Manisha is a relatively tall young woman with a lean yet slender build. She’s deathly quiet and tends to be something of a shadow in a room, seldom speaking unless she’s directly addressed. Her tanned skin still carries several scars from her numerous misadventures not that they bother her. When it comes to her long dark hair, she more often than not ties it back in the form of a ponytail. She has dark brown eyes and would require glasses to read but currently doesn't have any so relies on Noctus for help. She’s not one to be bothered by what she wears so long as it’s practical and comfortable. When she does speak, she has an east-English accent and is always audible. When it comes to weapons, she has a small dagger which she hides in one of her boots in case of emergency and isn’t afraid to draw out.
[break][break]
What Manisha lacks in politeness and common decency, she makes up for with sarcastic comments and a cold demeanour. She generally avoids others as much as humanly possible, only interacting with them when strictly necessary and even then only begrudgingly. She listens a lot though and her fiery temper makes her quick to snap and lash out if someone says something that she doesn’t like, especially if it’s about her.
[break][break]
She spends most of her time with her dragon partner, Noctus who is one of the very few things that she actually cares about, even if they do spend a fair amount of time arguing. Although whilst in a dangerous situation, she tends to keep a cool and level-head, she’s probably in that situation because of her tendency to be easily provoked.
[break][break]
She thinks very little of others, in every sense and doesn’t usually concern herself with whether or not her actions might hurt them physically or emotionally. Her abrasive nature can make her nearly impossible to reason with. Only Noctus really knows how to talk to her and even then, she can have some choice words to say. She’s a little claustrophobic and her dislike of crowds will often cause her to seek solitude.
[break][break]
Manisha is a wounded soul that’s still healing. There is a softer and kinder side to her though, it just takes a lot to bring it out.
[break][break]
Manisha knows comparatively little about her early childhood or perhaps chooses not to. She believes that her mother died early on in her life. She lived above ground with a large group of humans under the dragons’ rule. Every now and then, a few people might be eaten but as the locals saw it, it was a worthwhile risk as it allowed most of them at least to live. Her father had little time for her, to be fair to him he had his hands full trying to get them food and avoid ending up a snack. One day, whilst out trying to gather something for them to eat, he never returned.
[break][break]
His daughter would never know whether he ran away and abandoned her or was killed, what she did know was that she never saw him again. The other members of her community couldn’t afford to look after her and showed very little interest in the young orphan. After waiting as long as she could, she would leave and never return.
[break][break]
She would proceed to make her life by scavenging and steeling off of whoever she could, human or dragon. Usually she would manage to pull of the heist and take enough to feed herself. She wasn’t infallible however and leaned her trade the hard way as nobody took nicely to a thief, no matter how young or hungry she was. Having to run for her life after a botched attempt to steal some food coupled with her previous experiences in her community contributed to give her many scars and a strong dislike for others.
When she was thirteen, she attempted to steal from a young blue dragon. As was probably predictable, it went rather badly. Manisha found herself face to face with the beast and convinced that she was going to be killed and eaten, although not necessarily in that order. Used to dragons eating the people of her community when she was a child, it was the only thing she had ever known them to do.
[break][break]
When the blue dragon spoke to her however it wasn’t talk of eating her but rather genuine concern for her welfare. Confused and a little unsettled, she found herself sharing a meal with the beast who identified himself as Noctus. Unlike the other dragons and indeed a fair number of the humans that Manisha had encountered, he was a gentle-soul.
[break][break]
Feeling sympathy for the teen, the air dragon offered to form a bond. With no one else and realizing that she desperately needed someone to rely on, Manisha accepted. For the next ten years, the two would travel together avoiding large groups of dragons and humans alike. They became close, forming what could best be described as a big brother/little sister bond. As with most siblings, they had their differences and would often bicker with Noctus with his kindness and patience clashing with her headstrong and cold attitude.
[break][break]
They have come to Excalibur out of necessity, tired of being hunted by dragons and the Knights of Purity alike and need somewhere to hide. For the moment, Manisha has no real ties to the group and would likely leave if she thought that her life and that of her dragon were in danger.
