Viserion growled as he paced his large mansion. He was annoyed, irritated, and bored. He didn't know what else to do. Ryluth had not summoned him for a while and he was running out of things to occupy his time with. He'd finally perfected his Dark Fog and held great dark anticipation for the next battle, the opportunity he would have to finally use it, but that wasn't enough. Viserion wanted more. He wanted something important to think on, something to give him a new goal. But what?
He thought of Ryluth, of The Court, of the impending battle between them and Excalibur, and possibly the puny Knights. They were no concern to him, neither Excalibur nor the Knights of Purity, but he was ready for a fight. He wanted a bloody one, one that would be exciting and thrilling and one in which he could show off his talents. But how? He could not start the war and though there were trivial skirmished here and there, those were not enough to satisfy him. He wanted something much more deadly, more dangerous than that.
His thoughts churned inside of him. What could be a source of entertainment? What would give him something to distract him until the war finally began, with all its glory, tragedy and triumph? As he tried to come up with something, he formed two Fogs, one Dark, the other Light. He created a small storm, with small rain drops, but he didn't want to get his home two wet. He was just practicing.
Finally, it came to him. It was time for him to put his plans into action. He needed to develop a new form of Fog, one with special new powers. He wanted a Poison Fog and he wanted to develop Acid Rain. He racked his thoughts, trying to remember which dragon he could go to for help on either of those. Poison dragons were extremely rare and Viserion wanted to be sure he went to the perfect one to teach him. He needed one that was not well-known, one that no one would miss once his training was done and he killed it, but also a poison dragon that really knew what it was doing.
He speculated for hours. After all, what else did he have to do? It was the middle of the night, so even once he made a decision, he would not be able to act on it until it was morning. It would be rude to interrupt another dragon's rest. Finally, as the sun was beginning to rise, he made his decision. He would go to Elendiel. She was the oldest known Poison Dragon, but was very independent and kept to herself. He knew that she would not refuse him (no one dared to refuse him anything due to his connections with Ryluth) and he was sure that no one would search for her were she to go missing.
It was decided. Viserion set off immediately to find her place of residence, determined to begin his training at once. After all, what else did he have to do?

Elendiel arose when she heard a knock on the front door of her mansion. "Who in the world could that be" she wondered. Elendiel was not a very social dragon and she rarely had visits from anyone, especially not so early in the morning. Something must be going on ... or someone must need her. She would have to see if she was interested in helping them or not. She heard more impatient rapping on her door and growled in irritation. If another dragon was coming to visit her so early in the morning without warning, the least they could do was be polite about it. Annoyed- and wanting to teach the restless dragon a lesson- she stopped in front of her mirror, checking her scales. No matter who it was, she wanted to make sure that she looked her best. She admired herself in the mirror for a few moments, loving the way her yellow-green scales glimmered in the early-morning sunlight that streamed through the windows. She checked her claws to make sure they were all long and dangerous before she stretched out her wings. She didn't know who was at the door and she wanted to be prepared for anything. If they just wanted to talk, that was fine, but if they wanted to attack, she would be ready for that too. As her seemingly anxious guest rapped on her door yet again, Elendiel let out a roar. They should be more patient, but at least now they knew she was awake. She moaned quietly to herself as she stormed through the mansion toward her front door. She slammed it open, hitting it with her front claw and saw none other than Viserion- one of Queen Ryluth's more vicious dragons- waiting for her. She stared for a moment and then composed herself. "Viserion, to what do I owe this great pleasure?" she asked, doing her best to mask her surprise and worry. Is there any way that he discovered her rebellious attitude towards Queen Ryluth? Elendiel hid her worries and waited for her answer. If he was here to take her in, she would fight. Against him, she knew she stood no chance, but she would still fight. However, she wasn't going to start a fight until she knew what he was here for. viserion

Viserion was not surprised by Elendiel's annoyed attitude. Most dragons do not like being woken up and it seemed like she was no exception. He waited outside for what seemed like ages. What in the world could be taking her so long? He knew it was annoying and that he was being impatient, but he couldn't keep himself from knocking almost continually. Why wasn't she letting him in already? Where were her manners? Finally the door opened. His first glimpse of Elendiel was that of an extremely irritated female dragon. Then she recognized him. Her furious gaze changed and became more calm, though surprise was clear in her features. "Viserion, to what do I owe this great pleasure?" she asked, but he wasn't really paying attention. He'd seen her around the city, but he never knew who she was. When he'd planned to visit Elendiel, he expected to find a dragon with dark, unkempt scales, much like many of the male poison dragons he knew of. She was something completely different. Her scales glimmered and shimmered green and yellow in the morning light and he was intrigued. Maybe having her teach him how to use poison would be more fun that he had even planned it to be ... "You are Elendiel, are you not?" he began, hardly waiting for an answer before he continued. "And you are a poison dragon, correct? I need you." He looked around at his surroundings, sure to keep a look of superiority on his expression. He needed her to feel like she couldn't say no to him. "You see, I have a particular talent with Fog and mixing it with other magic and I have a new goal. I would like to see if I can develop an acid or poison Fog. Maybe both ..." he mused, trailing off for a moment as he thought of the possibilities. "Either way, I need someone to teach me. You are the oldest and wisest poison dragon. Would you do me the honor of teaching me how to work with poison and acid?" He turned his attention to her, his expectation sure. She would not refuse him. She wouldn't dare. elendiel

Elendiel stared at him, stunned by what was happening before her eyes. First of all, it was Viserion. Arrogant, part of Queen Ryluth's court Viserion. And he was asking her for help. Really, she didn't have any choice but to say yes, but he wasn't demanding anything either. As he continued to speak, Elendiel found herself slightly distracted. She'd never been so close to him before and she found she was drawn to him. What was wrong with her? Yet at the same time, she was enchanted by his scales, by the outline of white scales along the edges of his wings and face. He was fierce, but she kind of liked it. She pulled herself back just in time. She had to focus on what was going on right in front of her. She couldn't let herself be attracted to him. First of all, he was evil! Pure evil! She'd heard the stories. All the stories of Viserion and his battles, his conquests. She'd even heard rumors that the other dragons he'd gone to for help in developing his abilities had disappeared mysteriously. Though she was drawn to him, Elendiel was no fool. She would not trust him. Help him, of course. She couldn't say no even if she wanted to. The consequences of that would be dire. "Of course I will help you in any way I can. I think you should know that acid is more difficult to understand than poison though, so it might be a while before you learn anything with acid. I can start teaching you about poison any time you're ready though. It's fairly easy to manipulate and work with and I think you would be able to use it with your Fog quite soon if you really want to," she answered. She expected him to say that he wanted to start right away, but she really hoped she was wrong. She wanted to have some time to prepare herself for this and that would be a whole lot easier if he gave her time on her own. Not to mention the fact that she needed to work on how to ignore her physical attraction to him. No matter. She'd do whatever she had to. viserion

Viserion fought for patience as he waited what seemed like hours before she answered him. Patience did not come naturally to him, as he was used to getting everything he wanted almost immediately. However, he was trying to convince this dragon to help him. He was positive she wouldn't dare to refuse him, but there was a nagging voice in his mind that told him he shouldn't give her a reason to refuse him. So he tried to be patient. When she finally did answer, he couldn't help himself. A devious smile took over and he straightened his shoulders confidently. It didn't matter how difficult acid or poison was, he would master both of them and transform them into a level of Fog previously unseen by dragon ... or human, for that matter. No one would dare to stand against him then. His mind flew off to not-so-subtle imaginings of him with these stunning powers, defeating all his opponents in a short period of time. After all, who would be able to stand against poison and acid, especially when it was in Fog form? Viserion's first instinct was to tell her he wanted to begin training right away, that very instant, but something stopped him. He gazed at the dragon in front of him, still surprised by how clean she was and how in-control of herself she seemed to be. Maybe he should give her some time to compose herself. After all, he did need to talk to Ryluth about this decision. Maybe it would be best if he did so before he actually began the training. Not that he expected any opposition on her part, but better safe than sorry. "Perfect," he began. "Are you available to begin training in a few hours?" He asked expectantly. If he thought he was speaking to someone equal to his rank, he would have given a reason for his delay, such as and excuse of having a meeting or not having eaten yet, but he saw no need here. Sure, Elendiel was the most powerful poison dragon, but she was no one politically speaking, no one to the Queen. Besides, he was confident that she would agree to any time when he wanted to begin. After all, he was one of the most powerful dragons in the City. What other choice did she have? elendiel

Elendiel waited for his response, wondering what he was thinking. He hesitated longer than she expected and she wasn't sure exactly what was going on. Was he changing his mind? Was he going to leave now? Or was he just in his mind? Finally he answered, asking if she was willing to begin this afternoon. Elendiel wished she had some excuse, some other plan she could tell him about that would mean delaying the training session, but she didn't. She had no choice. This afternoon, she was going to find herself face to face with one of the most vicious dragons in existence, helping him make himself even more dangerous. "Of course," she answered quickly. She didn't want to seem too eager, or fearful, but at the same time she simply wanted this conversation to be over. "Is there anything specific you want me to prepare?" she asked expectantly. She might as well be ready to give him what he wanted. Then it would be over sooner. Hopefully viserion

Viserion tossed his head impatiently. Like he knew anything about her powers. How would he know what he wanted her to prepare? He knew he didn't need to be angry about this, but he was. Maybe it had something to do with the strange draw he felt toward this Elendiel in particular, but he just wanted to leave already. He needed to talk to Ryluth and he needed to prepare for his training exercise with her this afternoon. He had specific practices that he used before every training session with another dragon and he wasn't going to stop now. "I'm sure I don't know. Just prepare whatever you deem necessary to teach me to the best of your ability," he finally answered, trying to seem a little more humble. Not that there was really a point; she probably knew all sorts of stories about him. Oh well. What's done is done. "Until this afternoon then," he told her before he turned away and took off without waiting for another response. elendiel
