Long peaked his face out, looking both up and down another hallway before pulling back into the wall. None of the so called 'guards' were around so he drifted out of the wall and towards a set of lavishly carved wooden doors sitting at the end. Even if there had been guards they wouldn't have noticed him, but he always checked to be sure; floating through someone by accident was decidedly not pleasant. This particular hallway was fairly short before taking a turn and going who knew where and so, feeling relatively safe, he re-materialized and gradually took heavier steps on a very nice rug that he hadn't noticed until now. It was incredibly thick, like most everything made for dragons and made it easy going for Long since he wouldn't have to worry about dampening the sound of his footsteps. It would make it harder for him to hear the human slaves if any came, but he would deal with that if it happened. It would have been nice if Weifang were there so they could watch each others backs, but since his friend had gone to meet dragons in Gorgoth he had needed to find a way to entertain himself.
He had agreed with Weifang that staying out of the city would probably be best for Long, that place had looked far too busy and hectic for either of their tastes. He could sense it through their bond, the bustle, so many slaves hunched and scurrying, the smells of local foods which smelled surprisingly diverse, and the noise. That was driving him insane. How could he be expected to hear his own thoughts in all of this clamor?
Wait, no, those were Weifangs thoughts. Long took a breath and focused, clearing his mind and allowing his own environment to possess his senses again. That happened sometimes. He and Weifang hadn't spoken with telepathic words in a long time. It was much better to just share the experience, all of it, but it did have a tendency to overwhelm if one of them was experiencing something intensely.
Long, putting hands on hips in front of the door and grinning broadly said aloud, "Well, I guess I'll just have to make this more fun for my friend wont I?" Unfortunately the giant doors didn't respond, very unfortunate. He stood there for a moment, and when nothing happened he decided to take a peak into the room. It was at the heart of this dragon's manor, with what could pass for a confusing turn about if not a proper labyrinth leading to it. He knew. He had passed through far more of them than he cared to recall. At least he had found the kitchens he reminded himself.
With that being the case he was certain that this room would hold something of value. He cleared his mind and focused again, becoming incorporeal and passing partially through the doors. The room was large and all of it seemed to be made out of a single piece of gigantic and beautifully dark wood. The whole of which had been carved expertly and showed the many rare and precious items that it housed.
At the center of the room was a dragons curvy desk made to look like it was part of the same piece of wood as the rest of the room. If his heart beat when he was a ghost (he still wasn't sure if it did) then it would've stopped. His first thought was taking the whole room, that was really the treasure here after all. However, the nice tear-drop shaped ruby held in a wire pedestal that sat on the desk would have to suffice. It was definitely larger than his head and the pedestal thingy itself was very artfully constructed from gold and silver wire. Yup. He had decided, that would be the thing. Now what about clothing? He looked around the room for anything fancy looking to wear. There! He saw an odd piece being worn by a wooden appendage of the room. He had seen very few of these in his travels, it had a sleeved vest that went over another vest and a long soft shirt, a strange piece of cloth dangling from the neck, with sleek looking pants and shinny black shoes. This one was silver with a shiny ruby inner vest and satiny emerald shirt and neck cloth.
He grinned. He knew exactly what to do, and it required a slight change of plans.

There Long sat in a nice chair he had brought from a human dinning hall, dressed in his fancy double vests and neck cloth. He had left the shoes though, too stiff. In front of him he had an array of the finest foods he could find from the kitchens and ate from them more to pass the time than from hunger. It had taken him a long time to get everything here, and not getting caught had been half the fun. It would all be worth it though. He could wait as long as it took before the dragon came to admire the collection only to find Long sitting on his desk as idle as can be. The mere thought of seeing the dragon's face was enough to make Long nearly choke on the cherry punch he had been drinking, and once he had gotten that down he didn't mind belting out a loud laugh. Oh it would be priceless!! Not only that, but he had placed the ruby behind his head, and since it was nearly the perfect height to match him while sitting, he could see the rest of the surprise unfold in his mind. The dragon, stunned as he was at the sight would never know what hit him as Long disappeared into thin air and left an empty set of fine clothing with a ruby for a head. He laughed again, this would most certainly divert his friend Weifang and cheer him up, if it hadn't already, and so there he waited watching the door for the all powerful and terrible owner to arrive.
