Ryker closed his eyes and felt the wind blowing in his hair as Selethina flew back to camp. He wasn't looking forward to this meeting; he didn't enjoy talking in front of so many people, but this was important. First of all, Elin told him to do it; however, even more important than that, he believed in the necessity of keeping ALL leaders informed of major developments, especially when it came to battle. "We're here," Selethina informed him once they arrived. She flew him close to the watch tower (also known as the bell tower since that was where the warning bells and horns were kept). When she was close enough, Ryker jumped off her back, landing casually next to the guard at the top of the tower. "Ryker Tremaine, Excalibur Captain," he began, stating his title and rank first so the guard wouldn't attack him. "I need the meeting horn immediately," he demanded, then watched the guard rush to the chest to remove it. Once he had the horn, Ryker checked to make sure it was the right one before he blew it three times. The first time he blew it semi-short blow, followed by a long one. His last blow was staccato, lasting only a moment before it ended. He waited several long seconds before repeating the exact same process one more time, just to make sure he was heard and understood. Those blows should inform every Captain and Lieutenant of the urgent meeting that was to take place in half an hour at the meeting hall. Satisfied, Ryker handed the horn back to the guard, mumbling a quick, "Thank you," before he took off down the stairs. He needed to get to the meeting hall as soon as he could so he could prepare himself for the discussion that was about to commence. A horn sounded from nearby, causing Simon to snap quickly out of treetop meditation. Simon quickly warped his shadowy cocoon down from around him and resumed a more observant perch from the branches of his Elysium treetop.
Several long seconds passed before Simon could get anything more perceptive than a gentle wind and the immediate general area's general layout. The horn sounded again, its meaning well understood to Simon. Casting his shadow as a slide beneath him, Simon let himself fall from his perch to be caught and conveyed toward the base of the tree. With a casual roll upon the foresty-ground, Simon regained footing and took off toward the Meeting Hall.
Simon usually tried to avoid high-speed running, but the horn's call had to be answered. Approaching the Hall half-a-minute later, Simon found himself at the doorway, moving a bit too fast. Shadows wrapping around his front end, he bumped into the door.
Nose bleeding, but pride undamaged; Simon entered the Meeting Hall to await the meaning behind the horn's summons.

Perseus was on the roof of a house hammering a shingle into place. He reached over and grabbed another. This old house needed a new roof, and he was doing nothing today anyway. No one lived here, but he figured someone could, or might if they roof was fixed. He hammered another into place, then grabbed the next and put the nail where he wanted it. He stopped mid swing as the meeting horn sounded in his ears. He reached out to Jankin in his mind, alerting him to the horn. Jankin appeared to be sleeping. Not for long.
The bond he had with his dragon was a strong one, but Persus still made sure he and Jankin had their time away from each other, mentally and physically. He had realized how important that was a year or so ago when he had blown up at Jankin. He had been spending all of his time with Jankin, afraid of what would happen if he left him. But the end of the week he had been so annoyed that he couldn't handle the dragon any more. After that they both made sure they had alone time.
Perseus let Jankin know he would meet him at the meeting hall and jumped off of the roof, he rolled when he hit the ground and came up running. He didn't want to be late.

Rowen was happily playing at the lake with Maldin and a sweet little dragon, Shinning, when he heard the horn sound. They were being called to a meeting, it seemed. He quickly helped escort the little dragon home to the hatchlings den before gliding up onto Maldins back, allowing the two of them to make their way to the meeting together. Once at the Bell Tower, Rowen air glided down and into the top of the Bell tower. He made his way to the meeting hall, hurrying to stand right beside his fellow Captain in arms, Ryker, and clapped a hand on his shoulder.
"Here mate, what's the trouble?" he asked, concern lacing his voice. Ryker had special gifts, visions of the future, and when he called a meeting Rowen always thought the worse. Bad things could happen, very bad things. But, at least they had a built in warning system, right?

Ryker stood at the front of the meeting hall, waiting for all the captains and lieutenants to arrive. He knew what he had to tell them and he was ready to do it, but he hated waiting for everyone to show up. If only they would all hurry, then he could just get it over with. He watched as, one by one, they arrived. Simon came first, his nose bleeding, but he seemed to be unconcerned by this. Others arrived quickly, including Perseus and Ryker was relieved that it seemed as though everyone was responding quickly to his message.
He gave a sigh of relief when Rowen walked into the room. He always felt more comfortable leading a meeting when his fellow captain was there. Granted, he much preferred the times when Rowen was in charge of the meetings, but it could not be helped today.
Rowen immediately approached Ryker and asked what happened. In a low voice, Ryker answered, "Selethina and I both had a vision of a battle that will take place sometime soon. We're not sure of the details yet, but Elin wanted us to alert the leaders and discuss our options a little bit. So here I am, just waiting for everyone to arrive," he finished, not sure if there was anything else he should say. He looked around the room to see who they were missing. It was almost time to start the meeting.

Perseus grabbed a chair and turned it backward, sitting with his chest against the back rest. He set it down next to Simon, who had a bloody nose, for some reason. "You're bleeding, you know." he grabbed a handkerchief, yes he did carry those around, no they were not just for women. It was amazing how many times a handkerchief had come in handy for him, so he always had a little stash. He held the piece of cloth out for the man to take if he wanted, then he realized he was blind. People said he could still see, just not like other people. Perseus didn't know what that meant so, just to be safe and all, set the cloth down on his knee. "Any idea why we are all here?" he asked, avoiding the awkward conversation that could potentially follow his inconsiderate manner regrading blind-but-not-really-blind men.

Simon gratefully accepted the handkerchief with a bow of his head. He had gotten an old cloth from his traveling pouch, but it was swiftly becoming saturated and his nose did not seem ready to cease its mild sanguination. His nose didn't feel particularly broken, but it would be tender for a day or two. Holding the new 'kerchief on his upper lip just beneath his nose, Simon smiled and responded.
"Yes... Yes indeed, friend Jagson." he began. "Thank you for the cloth. I think I arrived a little too soon to this meeting hall. Doors can be nasty blighters, ya know! You'll never notice that they've gotten you until its far too late."
Simon could hear the back-pedaling in the fellow Lieutenant's voice. It amused him, though he wasn't put-off in the slightest. Choosing to just roll with the grateful response, he answered the second inquiry. This meeting had to be about the vision Ryker had seen back at the lake!
"As to our reason for being here, I do believe our Captain and his bond have been witness to a vision. Potentially one that will keep us both busy and on our toes. Never a moment too dull around here, my friend!"
In his head, Simon's bonded Dragon - Agrajag - made comment, 'Ooo! Maybe if we're lucky, we'll come away from this with the heads of a few of those fascist scale-brains! Ryluth be damned!'
Simon grinned at 'Jag's commentary. He quietly repeated, "Heh. Ryluth be damned..."

It took her long enough, but Lacey arrived at the doorway of the Meeting Hall. She had been relatively far away, training alone in the treetops, when she heard the horn off in the distance.
She was probably late. No one else seemed to be running up to the doorway but her at the time.
'Of course' she thought. 'Lacey Morne. Late as usual. I'll be reprimanded for sure.'
Lacey took a deep breath and slipped in through the door and made her way to where the seats had been organized. There were already a few Captains and Lieutenants in attendance, but none of them looked like they were in any sort of deep discussion yet. Before too long, she spotted Simon and made her way over to where he and another Lieutenant were sitting. She slipped into the remaining seat that was next to him and hoped that she wasn't too late for anything.
Leaning toward Simon and the Lieutenant who looked like Perseus, she quietly asked, "Did I miss anything?"

He slipped through the trees quietly, eyes tracking a barely-visible wagon trail along the road that didn’t belong to Excalibur. Eyes gleamed red, reptilian in nature. Ears had flattened into his head, mere holes now like one might find on a crocodile, surrounded by mustard-yellow scales that faded into tan human skin quickly. A forked tongue occasionally flicked from his mouth, tasting for heat in the air as Ranulf continued searching for this mysterious wagon in the woods—
And paused, as he heard, miles away, the meeting horn sound. Well. Welly well well then. What to do, what to do…the pattern called for an urgent meeting, but this trail was already so cold he needed a dragon’s senses to follow it at all. If he left now, he’d never pick up the trail, but as it stood, he’d probably lose it anyway…ah screw it. He’d just inform the perimeter guards and the scouts that a strange wagon was being pulled around the woods.
Ranulf dropped to the ground, his ears slowly growing out from his head, back to normal human ears, the scales fading to skin. At the same time, if anyone had been around to see him, they would have noticed his body bulking up immediately and noticeably, as the power of a dragon’s strength and speed flowed into his muscles. He didn’t tap into it hard enough to shift his body physically toward a dragon—just the surge of power to his muscles should be enough. The lithe scout dropped to the ground and took off, traveling through the forest at an unreasonably fast speed. Were it not for his dragon eyes, he’d had knocked himself out a dozen times smashing into trees.
Despite the speed, he’d been miles away from Excalibur’s main site, so it took him time to get there. He announced his presence by flying out of the woods and leaping over the perimeter guards, flipping around and around in the air just because he could. Now that he was in town, he let the dragon eyes fade, leaping up onto a rooftop (barely avoiding slipping on the evil loose shingles left there), and rushed across rooftops to reach the meeting hall.
One final leap, and he smacked bodily into the side of the Hall with his arms and knees, sliding down the side of the building, then pushed the door open and staggered in. He wasn’t tired, though he did have a light sheen of sweat over his body from the exertion of the run, but he always felt weak immediately after releasing Grounded’s powers. He looked around and grinned. “Someone rang the party bell, I heard it. Where’s the cake?”

Ryker knew it was past time, that he should have already started the meeting, but he was putting it off. He didn't want to lead another meeting, but he knew there was no other alternative. No one else knew what he did; he was the only one that could inform everyone about his vision. He took a deep breath and stepped forward, "Alright, it looks like we're ready to start," he began, pausing for a moment as he waited for those around the room to finish their conversations and turn their attention to him. "Selethina and I had a vision. We talked with Chief Elin and Ryagin and they wanted us to inform you all about the vision and confer with you all about our options. Selethina and I had a vision about a fierce battle that will take place in the near future. We're not exactly sure when or where, but we are confident that we will receive that information soon. I can tell you that it will take place at night and, in the very least, Selethina and I will take place in the battle. As to others that may or may not participate, we did not see faces of any known to us. Chief Elin wants us to all prepare for battle, but what else should be done? What other measures can we take to prepare ourselves?" Ryker ends with a question, relieved that he was able to convey all the information without struggling through the words. Maybe he is getting better at talking front of a crowd. At least now the discussion is out of his hands, something that everyone will be a part of, including him. Rowen listened carefully as his fellow Captain explained why the meeting was called. He always thought this prophecy business was a little creepy, to be honest, but he still believed every word Ryker said. Rowen jumped in to answer questions, "I think protective measures over the forest should be a top priority, Our location is well hidden but I fear that may not last. As for how to help the underground..." he paused for a brief moment, "we may have to work with the Knights in order to keep the citizens safe. I volunteer for that unfortunate task," he said with a sarcastic little wink.
"As for other measures, what say ye?" he asked, glancing about the room at his other comrades.

A battle? A small surge of anxiety boiled in his stomach. He pushed it away. He always felt this way when he and Jankin were about to do something courageous... or stupid depending on how you looked at it. but he had learned to ignore those feelings. Whatever happened to them was going to happen. And they would take it as it came.
"Jankin and I can patrol the seas. Ryluth's forces would be wise to take the long way round, if they were to attack us here. The ocean would be their best bet." He volunteered. While Elysium was decidedly landlocked, it was only an hour on foot away from the ocean. If he was going to attack, that is where he would come from. However as Ryluth's forces did not know where Excalibur was hiding, that could make it more difficult. They assumed that Ryluth's forces knew the general direction from which Excalibur came from.

Ryker listened to the conversation around himself and gave a small smile. Oh, how glad he was that he was not alone here. He loved being surrounded by his brothers and sisters in their cause. All of them had a strong determination to work with one another and a dedication that- in all his years waltzing through different societies- he had never seen elsewhere. He was proud to be part of such a movement. "Thank you for your ideas and contributions, brothers and sisters. Any other ideas that we have should be taken directly to Chief Elin. I will inform her of the measures we have thought of in this meeting. Rowen, I think you should know that I believe she is going to visit the Grand Prior of the Knights of Purity, but if you want to talk with others in the group about the situation, you are free to, though I would ask you to keep the source of your information a secret. I have no interest in letting the Knights learn about Selethina's gift." He gave a short, depreciating laugh before finishing. "Everything else sounds great to me. Is there anything else, any other ideas perhaps that we would like to discuss or should we adjourn our meeting until a later date?" Ryker looked at each of his friends one more time. He didn't want to cut anyone off if they had anything else to say. ROWEN BEHRRanulf Argentum NorthPERSEUS CAREW

"Well, Ryluth hates the water so she won't come that way herself. Unless she stops being such a pansy," he chuckled, "but she will send troupes that way. As for other comments, I feel as if you've all heard enough of my antics," he gave a goofy little smile at that around the group. He knew things should be taken seriously, sure, but it was so hard to be so darn serious all of the time. He just needed to be the comic relief every once in a while to remind everyone that life was still good even though things were about to get bad. Real bad.

Ryker nodded. There wasn't much else to say. He knew that everyone here would do their best to help in whatever way they could ... that was all he could ask of them. "Then I suggest we get out of here and begin our preparations. I'll inform you all immediately of any changes that come along. Thank you for coming so quickly."
As he looked around the room, Ryker was pleased by what he saw. These were people he knew, people he trusted and he was confident that with whatever was about to happen against Ryluth, things would work out. There would probably be many casualties, but he knew Excalibur's strength and knew that it would withstand any attack. No matter the outcome, the revolution would continue and the world would change.
OOC: End of this thread??
